Brightness and gamma in Hunt: Showdown

September 29, 2026 · 3 min read · Shooters & survival

Swamps, fog, dark barns and night map variants — in Hunt the enemy often stands in shadow and all you see is the muzzle flash. Gamma and moderate saturation help.

In-game brightness

First set in-game brightness using its calibration screen. That is the base; fine-tune shadows with gamma after that.

Values

TimeGammaBrightnessSaturation
Day, fog1.2–1.3104–108125–135%
Dusk1.4–1.5108–110125%
Night1.7–1.9112–118115%

The ready-made "Hunt: Showdown" preset: gamma 1.5, brightness 110, saturation 125%. For night matches — the Night vision group.

Fire and lanterns

Hunt has lots of light sources: burning buildings, lanterns, flashes. With high gamma they blow out into white blobs. If that bothers you, lower gamma by 0.1 and add 2–3 points of brightness.
