Pick a base profile
Most players do well with "Rust — Summer" by default and "Rust — Night" after dark. On a dull monitor (TN, budget VA) go one step more vivid — "Rust — PvP" instead of "Summer". On bright IPS and OLED panels start from "Winter" or "Desert".
Switch without alt-tabbing
Assign hotkeys to your 3–4 favorite presets, for example Alt+1 — day, Alt+2 — night, Alt+3 — caves. Do not use F1: that is the Rust console.
Tune your own profile
- Stand in daylight near bushes and rocks where enemies usually blend in.
- Raise saturation until clothing and loot stand out, but grass is not toxic green.
- Go into the shade of a cliff or a building and raise gamma until details appear, but the sky is not white yet.
- Save it as your own profile and bind it to Rust.

What is the best preset for Rust PvP?
"Rust — PvP" (170%) is the balanced choice. "Rust — Raid" (190%) separates targets even more, but colors are noticeably stronger.
Do I need to change Rust graphics along with color?
Color and graphics are independent. For FPS, lower shadows and water — the "Quick optimization" tab does it for you.
