Color and brightness in Call of Duty and Warzone
Call of Duty has plenty of dark interiors and harsh lighting: blinding outside, dark inside. The goal is to open up shadows without burning out the street.
In-game brightness calibration
On first launch the game asks you to calibrate: the logo should be barely visible. That is the starting point, but for competitive play many players go a notch or two brighter than recommended.
Color filters
Accessibility settings include color filters and their intensity. They change the palette of the whole picture; some filters make enemies more contrasty against the environment. Try each one on a map you know.
Saturation and gamma
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Saturation | 145–160% | Silhouettes separate from the background |
| Gamma | 1.1–1.2 | Dark rooms and shadows |
| Brightness | 100–102 | No blown-out street |
The ready-made "Call of Duty / Warzone" preset: saturation 150%, gamma 1.15, brightness 102.
HDR
If your monitor is not true HDR (up to 400 nits without local dimming), play in SDR: HDR often makes the picture duller and darker. More in HDR in games on Windows.
Ready-made presets for CS2, Valorant, Overwatch 2, Call of Duty, Dota 2, League of Legends and 20 more games: the profile turns on when the game starts and turns off when you leave. Saturation up to 350%, NVIDIA, AMD and Intel. First day free.
